Get Away Weekend @ Motutapu Island! :D

For those that don't know - Motutapu Island is not some kind of tropical island for tourists, far from it. It's near empty of civilisation. There's no rodents or pests...

okay it's not the first time i've been to Motutapu but im excited all the same. (Especially since i'll be staying overnight!! XD) I use to be one of the leaders of a club called "Interact" (smaller branch of the Rotaract Club) in college where I had to lead a group of youths - called "Interacters" - for tree planting events to Motutapu. Last time i was here it was like 2009 -coming back brings back memories of my college years whenever i see this beautiful island. (Im feeling old yeshh.... btw this is random, but i had my first experience of riding on the back of a truck on one of the Womble trips back then!! XD)

So. Some of my friends and I will be staying overnight on saturday... (hopefully in cabins...not dormitries). I keep imagining i'll be in some large wooden hut thing - where the walls and ceiling are made entirely of wooden logs. And inside there will be like a fireplace... a large rug and sofa... people around me will be chatting but i'll be lying on a big beanie near the fireplace sipping hot chocolate (or mocha)...while outside snow will be falling..(?!!)... feeling relaxed and happy. :)
....omg that will be a dream... Snowing will never happen where i live! (in aux, we get HAIL. LAME.>_<) Gonna be planting trees on both sat and sunday i think... Just hope it doesn't rain... but if it does, then BRING IT ON!!! >:D

Update after the trip:

- It rained. T.T
- My fantasy cabin wasn't so far from reality after all! We did sleep in a place that wasn't a dormitry. There was a small fire place, there were sofas.. instead of snowing, it was raining... and i did sip hot chocolate that night. :D
- Planted trees on sunday. Spent the whole of saturday tramping ( in the rain, to the top of Rangitoto summit and to Motutapu Island - they're kinda joined together) and exploring!! (bomb shelters and journeyed through the underground tunnels...like rats lol) The ceiling of the tunnels were around 1m high and long... claustrophobic much? :p
- Nacho's for dindins. Played mafia= it's awesome when you play it with many ppl. Some were really good actors... lol @Ryan: in the first round "Believe me, im a citizen" - we questioned him several times and he kept saying "im a citizen, im a citizen"... when in fact he turned out to be MAFIA. Second round of the game, he got questioned again and this time he defended himself by saying "believe me,, im not mafia im not mafia" Lolllllll. XD A cute kid joined us in the Mafia game. The reaction the kid made when his father approached him in the middle of the game saying "It's 8:40pm now, bedtime.." was so cute. (His character eventually got killed off, and he went off to bed not too late XD)
- The deck outside the cabin had an amazing view! My friends and i sat outside to watch the final moments of the sunset... :) Also, the water on the beach wasn't even 10m away from the where we slept... NOT SCARY coz the beach was too beautiful to be scared of a random tsunami hitting us lol. :P
- Will post up the Rotaract trip photos soon... (along with the rest of the other photos taken earlier this year). :))
